"Dr Tyson was Reese's doctor and diagnosed the tumor. She supported my decision to take him home for the long weekend to say our goodbyes. I honored him in every way I knew of, including asking a friend to sing"Amazing Grace"to us on Facetime.I knew that if Reese started to show signs of distress that I could take him to an Emergency facility nearby. He was uncomfortable, not in visible distress but Tuesday came none too soon. When Dr. Tyson's office opened after the weekend, they were kind to accept us for 4:20pm that day. What a relief...it was time for him to leave. Dr. Tyson and her staff were incredibly kind and compassionate to both Reese and me. No rushing the goodbyes. Made sure we understood how it would all work. Dr. Tyson hugged me afterwards and her Vet Tech prepared Reese to come home with me. She even drew a little heart on the covered carrier box to let me know that's where his sweet head was. When we left the facility, I looked back from the entry and noticed the electric candle glowing and a sign beside it requesting visitors to be quiet, as a pet and owner were in the other room saying goodbye (sic). It's 3 days after now and boy is it quiet in my house. Thankfully, my thoughts can be free of any ill feelings about how he and I were treated because of how sweetly we were cared for. Just sad feelings and gratitude for having had 11 years with him and the loving care he had assisting him on his new journey. Thank you, Dr. Tyson. Jan Sherburne 9-5-25"
